The mornings travel is uneventful and we make good progress through the forest.
In the afternoon we begin to come across signs of goblin patrols, more than we had expected, Dorin reckons up to five patrols where we had expected only one.
We manage to ambush one patrol, and on the path where we were expecting a patrol, we detected an ambush in time to turn the tables on the goblins.
Nearing the Red blade outpost, the goblins have increased the number of lookouts, but we were able to take them out without detection, and reach the cave without raising the alarm.
Attacking the forces outside the cave entrance we quickly took out the hobgoblin in charge and the worgs which were in a pen, pressing closer Shallyn falls into a pit trap, but easily climbs out (the benefit of temporarily being a spider). The fight is heard by those in the cave and a large bugbear emerges, but eventually falls to our onslaught.
Just as we think we have a moments rest bite, arrows rain down from the top of the cliff above the cave, and we press close to the cliff surface to gain some cover…
